Choosing To Be Placid Amidst All The Hustle And Bustle

A little time lapse photography captures it nicely.

Addendum: Appreciative thanks go to Dougald Hine, Proxima, and Steve Williams for their assistance in helping me to embed the video directly into this post.

It turns out to be ultra simple: In the bottom right corner of the original video there is a button for menu. Click that, and then select embed and then select copy to clipboard. Then in the body of your post, in "Edit Html" view, paste the HTML code from the clipboard, and then publish post directly from the Edit Html button on Blogger dashboard...easy peasy.

Hi Tim,

Love the video - I've reposted it on my blog.

To embed it directly, I had to sign up for an account with YouTube, then click the "Post Video" link under the clip. This took me to a page where I gave my Blogger account details, after which I could go back and click "Post Video" again, write some text to go with it, and post it straight onto my blog.

I'm guessing you can probably embed clips manually, if you copy the code from somewhere.

That was nice!

And yes, Doug is correct, that is the only way I know how to do it as well.

Nice video reminder to slow down Tim. I have my own version of getting off the wheel in the post LESSONS FROM 100 POSTS. Its a short little video...

While going slow you will be able to figure out how to embed the video links. Your video link could play like this:

WATCH the VIDEO

The is simple just uses the a href code.

Within blogger you can just use the same code or if you are on a PC use the create link icon.

If you have all the embed code you can use it to have the video play right on your page.

It took me a little fiddling around to figure it out but it wasn't too hard.

Dougald: I'm glad to see you posted it on your blog also. The more I look at it, the more I like it. For fun, the next time you run through it, look at the people in the background who are sitting on the benches. It looks like a lot of people take short breaks to rest for awhile.

Also, I left a comment on your blog. I think you are spot on about how time = money has marginalized societies ability to enjoy and simple be in the moment. Yes, it marginalizes and monetizes it at the same time...e.g., you deserve a break, a vacation, let's rush to make money to go somewhere to relax and enjoy before we collapse from exhaustion.

Proxima: Yes, it is fun. And that music...I just want to keep listening to it. Easy going and timeless.

Steve: I watch your video and am drawn in instantly. It is a haunting story of information overload in a "ground hog day" kind of way. It also captures the resistance from Anthem by Ann Rand. (I hope I have that right.)

Yes, "resistance is always possible...a conscious step towards removing myself from the chaos of information.........." Great quote.

Watching the video and reading your words - "riding allows me to stay awake and not be asleep in my life" brings me into the moment also.

I think we are on similar paths here, you with your riding and opening your senses and stilling the habit-mind chatter. Me with my non-rushing which, for me, stills my mind AND also opens the possibility of exploring being and doing.

Thanks all three for your help with embedding the video.

Tim
